Norms Related To Course
- Duration and Working Days:
- The B.Ed. programme shall be of two academic years duration minimally, which can be completed in a maximum of three years from the date of admission to the programme.
- There shall be at least two hundred working days each year exclusive of the period of examination and admission.
- The institution shall work for a minimum of thirty-six hours in a week (six days), during which physical presence in the institution of all the teachers and student teachers is necessary to ensure their availability for advice, guidance, dialogue and consultation as and when needed.
- The minimum attendance of pupil-teachers shall have to be 80% for all course work and practicum, and 90% for school internship.
- Intake and Eligibility
- The college has an annual intake capacity of 100 students, i.e. two basic units.
- Candidates with at least 50% marks or 5.01 CGPA or Grade B in the Bachelor’s Degree (Medical/ Non-Medical/ Commerce/ Arts) and/ or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Humanities/ Commerce, are eligible for admission to the programme. Bachelors in Engineering or Technology from any recognized university, with specialization in Science and Mathematics passed with 55% marks or 5.51 CGPA or Grade B+ or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are equally eligible for admission.
- At least 45% marks or 4.51 CGPA or C Grade in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories in the aforesaid Master’s/ Bachelor’s Degree and 50% marks or 5.01 CGPA or Grade B in Bachelors in Engineering or Technology from any recognized university, are eligible for admission to the programme
- The reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-serviceman and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Himachal Pradesh State Government, whichever is applicable
